The Mega-12FC comes with 2 small cases. The LED Mat / Accessory case is actually 35% smaller than the Mega-8FC case. By removing the frame and packing it into it’s own separate case, the Mega-12FC can be transported into even smaller compact cars with no issue.

Frame - No Assembly Required

The Mega-12FC comes with a sturdy frame that simply unfolds and locks into place, taking seconds to setup. The new double-bone frame also acts as a 5 inch spacer between the LED mat and diffusion. Because of this new design, there is no need for a large, bulky, heavy softbox. Instead, the Mega-12FC comes with a diffuser sheet which weighs less than 1 pound, dramatically cutting down on weight and setup time. 

The included Diffusion sheet weighs just 1 pound and is a ½ stop. Additionally, 1 stop diffusers are available as on optional add-on.

Grid and Skirt Included

The included grid has a firm shell that pops into place for a quick setup and sturdy, no sag design. Additionally, a skirt is included making this an ideal overhead light without having to invest in additional modifiers. The skirt comes in 2 pieces, and all 4 sides can be rolled up for precise control over light-spill. 

Wider Color Range

The Mega-12FC has an expanded color range of 2600k-9999k giving users more warmth and increased mixing capabilities than prior models. Additionally, the LED’s have been calibrated to perfectly match with all other 3.0 LiteCloth Models.

AC & DC Power Options

When not powering the Mega-12FC via AC, users have the ability to power via 2x 14.8V V-Mount or Gold Mount batteries up to 50% output. Additionally, there is a DC 48V input allowing users to connect external batteries or generators at 100% output.

Users can now select from 4 different DMX Groups:

• GP1: DIM / CCT / GM/ INT / HUE / SAT

Q&A:

 Why did you choose a 4x6? This was the largest size that 1 person can setup by themselves without requiring a 2^nd set of hands. Additionally, a 4x6 fits in very well to both 6x6 and 8x8 frames. 

The rectangular design also allows users to set up the Mega-12FC in both a vertical or horizontal position. 

What is the smallest size that the LED Mat can be folded down to? The Mega-12FC LED mat can fold down to 31"x16"x1". This is the the size of 2 x LED Squares. Due to the 12FC's larger size, please do not fold down to a single square. 

The fact that the 12FC can fold down to just 31"x16"x1" makes this the most portable and travel friendly large source on the market. 

Can the Mega-12FC be powered via v-mount / gold mount batteries? Yes, we designed the Mega-12FC so that it can run at 50% output when 2 batteries are connected. We view this as a big advantage over other brands which offer no v-mount / gold mount options at all in this size & output.

The Mega-12FC is designed to work with standard 14.8V batteries allowing users to use batteries that are likely already in their kit.

Additionally, there is a DC 48V input allowing users to connect external batteries or generators.

Can the fan be turned off? Yes, just like previous LiteCloth 3.0 models, the fan can be turned off, even when being powered at 100%. Also, like previous LiteCloth 3.0 models, the fan is extremely quiet when running. 

The fan is located in the control box. The LED mat is passively cooled and completely silent.

Do more accessories need to be ordered for the Mega-12FC? The Mega-12FC includes more accessories than any other light we've offered in the past. Because of this, you're likely good to go out of the box. 

Aside from this, users could also order an optional 26 foot header extension cable if the included 13 foot header is too short. Additionally, for those wanting stronger diffusion than the included 1/2 stop, we also offer a stronger 1 stop diffuser.

Is this light too large and manly for me? Thank you for reading this far. No! For those experienced using the Mega-8FC, think of this as being just 1 foot wider and 1 foot taller than the 8FC. The 12FC was designed to be extremely fast and easy to setup with it's intuitive, no assembly frame. Additionally, we designed the cases so that it's easy on the back and small on space. Anyone with a Honda Civic or larger can easily transport the Mega-12FC. 

The 12FC expands the 3.0 lineup by offering both a larger and more powerful source while also eliminating concerns related to size, weight and setup time.
